Premiering in USA at the famous Auditorium Theater, in Chicago, Sylvia is a story of obsession, deception and unrequited love. Choreographed brilliantly by John Neumeier, the ballet pits Sylvia’s coming-of-age vulnerability against her youthful aggression; both balanced by true love but tested when that love is lost. This magnificent female-powered ballet will have audiences at their feet. The show will run from October 14-25.
Next in the season is the classic story of The Nutcracker conceived and directed by the legendary Robert Joffrey himself with music by the popular Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The holiday favorite will be showcased by the company for the last time from December 4-27 before its newer version premieres in 2016.
Running through February 10-21 is Bold Moves- a collection of three shows. Forgotten Land is a stirring and beautiful ballet inspired by a painting by Norwegian expressionist Edvard Munch. World Premier by award-winning choreographer Ashley Page explores various avenues of dance related to ballet, and RAku showcases a story of love, separation and tragedy set in Japan.
April 21 to May 1 will see the classic fairy tale come to life in the spectacular ballet format. Costumes and grand sets will dazzle on this family-favorite production as Cinderella overcomes her mean-spirited sisters with the help of her fairy-godmother and discovers true love.
