This awesome minor league team first started out as the Glens Falls White Sox and was located in Glens Falls within the state of New York. It was formed back in 1980 and was affiliated with the White Sox. By 1985, the team had a new MLB affiliate and patron, the Detroit Tigers and so the team’s name changed to the Glens Falls Tigers. Soon after, the team moved on to the city of London in the state of Ontario and had its name changed to become the London Tigers with their home stadium being the legendary Labatt Park.


It was in 1994 that Trenton Thunder moved to the Trenton as a Boston Red Sox affiliate. The team then went on to win heavily bagging three different first position wins, a record indeed. In 2003, the team then changed affiliates to their present MLB patron, the New York Yankees and had a big fanbase in Central New Jersey, home to many New York Yankees fans. By 2006, this amazing baseball team was breaking records. It became the first team in the history of minor league baseball to have attracted over four-hundred-thousand fans for around twelve consecutive seasons, attracting a total of five and a half million fans to its game, a huge record.

These include the likes of Tony Clark, David Eckstein, Nomar Garciaparra, Shea Hillenbrand, Adam Hyzdu, Alfredo Aceves, T. J. Beam, Kevin Brown, Melky Cabrera, Andy Cannizaro, Robinson Canó, Joba Chamberlain and Roger Clemens.

From 1994 onwards to 2011, Trenton Thunder have bagged various records and ranked high in the ranks of minor league baseball. In 1994, they finished fifth followed by finishing first place both In 1995 and again in 1996. In 1997, Trenton Thunder finished fourth followed by a third place finish in 1998. In 1999, the team again finishes first in the season and finished first in 2000, 20001 and in 2002. The year of 2003 saw the team finish fourth whereas 2004 saw them finish sixth followed by a spectacular second place finish in 2005. From 2006 to 2010, the team has finished first in each and every season except for coming third in the 2009 season.

Trenton Thunder’s mascots include Boomer, a blue thunderbird who wears a Trenton Thunder uniform in purple and yellow shades, Strike, a yellow lightning bolt and finally, Chase, a Golden Retriever who is aged ten and who has been featured heavily on TV channels such as FOX and CNN. All in all, Trenton Thunder is a remarkable team that has won the League Championship twice and finished the season first many times.
