WWE SmackDown is part of the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) Company that primarily produces and promotes a number of wrestling events apart from WWE SmackDown such as WWE Raw and WWE Velocity. The concept of a wrestling conpany was initially the brainchild of famous boxing and wrestling promoter Roderick McMahon. Currently Roderick’s grandson and ex-wrestler Vince McMahon is running WWE along with his wife, son and daughter. The WWE Enterprise is earning healthy profits and the last quarter of 2011 net income was reported to be over ten million dollars.
In the past apart from WWE SmackDown there has been a few very popular wrestling events that are regularly held under the patronage of WWE like Royal Rumble, Raw Money in the Bank, SmackDown Money in the Bank, WWE NXT, WWE Tough Enough and King of the Ring. WWE SmackDown was launched in the year 1999 and it was aired regularly on Thursday nights but later on in the year 2005 it was moved to Friday nights. As of yet thirteen seasons of it have been aired with 645 episodes, the running time is two hours and the program is produced by Kevin Dunn. WWE SmackDown have been aired on a number of channels such as UPN, The CW and MyNetwork TV but since October 2010 it is being aired on Syfy. Some of the most famous wrestlers that have been competing in WWE SmackDown include Rob Van Dam, Mankind, The British Bulldog, John Cena, Randy Orton, Undertaker, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, Triple H, Kane, Zack Ryder, CM Punk, Alex Riley and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. Currently the WWE SmackDown champion is Daniel Bryan, he has recently won the title in December 2011 by defeating former champions Big Show. The WWE Intercontinental SmackDown champion is Cody Rhodes he beat Ezekiel Jackson. There are some wrestlers that occasionally keep on appearing at various SmackDown events such as Christina, The Great Khali, Chris Jericho, Edge, Kurt Angle and Roddy Piper. Some of the countries in which WWE SmackDown is aired include Argentina, Dominica Republic, Cambodia, Chile, Belgium, Finland, France, Honduras, India, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Romania, South Korea, Ukraine and Ireland.

Things are heating up
A lot happened in the latest edition of WWE SmackDown. The former member of The Wyatt Family, Rand Orton turned his back on Bray Wyatt and burned down his compound. On the other hand, AJ Styles defeated Luke Harper and became the number one contender for Wyatt’s WWE Championship. Superstars like John Cena and The Miz also had a heated confrontation and WWE diva, Becky Lynch squared off against Mickie James. Some interesting promos were also shown including a segment between Alexa Bliss and Natalya. WrestleMania is just around the corner so, the next episode of SmackDown is expected to be really exciting as things build up towards “The Grandest Stage of Them All.”

Its WrestleMania week and things just got interesting in the latest edition of SmackDown. The show opened with a contract signing between AJ Styles and Shane McMahon. Then the fans were treated to an amazing tag team match as Mickey James and Becky Lynch squared off against Alexa Bliss and Carmella. At the end of the match all hell broke loose and Naomi made her return from injury. An intense promo between The Miz and John Cena was also shown and in the main event, Bray Wyatt took on Luke Harper and won the bout. The Grandest Stage of Them All is just a few days away. Kevin Owens beats Shane McMahon in Hell in a Cell
Kevin Owens beat Shane McMahon in a hellacious Hell in a Cell match after a shocking interference by none other than Sami Zayn. KO and Shane O Mac went all out in this grudge match. It looked as though Shane was going to win the match when he put Kevin on the table and jumped from 20 feet for an elbow drop. But then Zayn moved KO, his bitter enemy and former best friend, out of the way as Shane came crashing down. Zayn then dumped KO on top of Shane and the referee counted three.
The next SmackDown Live will be epic.
What time does WWE come on?
The World Wrestling Entertainment, also known as the WWE holds two main shows each week. They are WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown.
