Born in 1964, in Georgia, Trisha became interested in country music when she was offered an internship at the MTM Records during her time at the Belmont University. She started using her resources to perform as a backup singer and began recording music. Trisha also befriended an aspiring new singer, Garth Brooks, who helped her land a recording deal by introducing her to producer, Allen Reynolds.
