Patricia Lynn Yearwood adopted the stage name Trisha Yearwood when she first started recording demos back in 1989. Among the first few artists she recorded with included Garth Brooks. It was Brooks who helped Yearwood obtain a recording contract from MCA Nashville. Prior to releasing her debut eponymous album in 1991, Yearwood was seen providing backing vocals on Brooks’ second studio album, ‘No Fences’ that has to date sold approximately 18 million copies internationally. Yearwood’s first studio record brought the aspiring songstress international success. Reaching number 2 in the US and number 6 in Canada, the album featured charting singles, ‘She’s in Love with the Boy,’ ‘Like We Never Had a Broken Heart,’ ‘The Woman before Me’ and ‘That’s What I like about You’.
