Tool is a four-member group featuring Maynard James Keenan on vocals, Adam Jones on guitars, Justin Chancellor on bass and Danny Carey on drums. Apart from bassist Justin Chancellor, the rest of the Tool lineup has remained the same after their formation. Chancellor replaced Paul D’Amour as the band’s bassist in 1995.

The band’s second album, Ænima, was released in 1996 and was their first work with new bassist Justin Chancellor had joined the group. The album was a major critical and commercial success; it peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and has been certified as triple platinum.
Lateralus, the band’s third album, was released in 2001. It became their first number one hit on the Billboard 200 and was a number one hit in Australia and Canada as well. The album has also been certified as double platinum. Tool released their fourth, and to date their latest album, in 2006. Titled 10,000 Days, it was a number one hit in the US, Canada, Australia, the Netherlands and New Zealand.
