Tool – The History
Emerging in the early 1990s, this American band created a sound that was intense and unique, combining classic heavy metal with alternative rock. It wasn’t long before the group had a huge mainstream following. After forming the band, Tool was signed on with Zoo Entertainment and released its first EP in 1992, called Opiate. In 1993, Tool released its first complete album called Undertow, which included hits such as “Sober” and “Prison Sex”. Tool’s next album was released in 1996, called Ænima. It was during the recording of this album that D’Amour quit the band and was replaced by Chancellor.
In 2001, the band released their third compilation called Lateralus, which turned out to be a big success. It also silenced those critics who were speculating about the band’s future because of the big breaks in album releases. This album also got the band their second Grammy Award.
In 2006, Tool released 10,000 Days. Even though this record was not as well received as the previous one, it was still considered a success.
