Tool; Band Formation
Formed in 1990, Tool is a Los Angeles-based progressive/alternative rock band known for singles, ‘Stinkfist,’ ‘Schism,’ ‘Parabola’ and ‘The Pot.’ Consisting of members, Adam Jones on guitars, Maynard James Keenan on vocals and Danny Carey on drums, Tool came into existence when Jones and Keenan moved to Los Angeles and met through a mutual friend. They decided to jam together and took on Carey as the final member of the line-up.
Tool’s Albums & Performances
In 1993, Tool released their first album, ‘Undertow.’ Becoming an international hit, the record received double-platinum certification in the US and comprised of hit single, ‘Sober.’ The record also peaked at number one on the Billboard Top Heatseekers. Their sophomore release was an even bigger hit. Named ‘Aenima,’ the album peaked in the Top 3 in the US, Canada and New Zealand. It received triple platinum certification in the US and platinum certification in Australia.
