Tipper has already established a reputation as one of the most talented electronic dance music (EDM) composers of today. The British artist has been making music since the late ‘90s. His experimentations on various turntable techniques have produced some of the best creations in numerous genres.
Higher Ground and Tipper’s debut
After initial work as a DJ at various nightclubs in London, Tipper released his first full-length debut in 2000. He was signed to Sony UK’s EDM music label Higher Ground, through which he released his first studio album The Critical Path.
His early creations were dipped in extreme bass frequencies, sophisticated polyrhythms and experimental electronic dance music. These later gave rise to a new genre dubbed as Nuskool Breakbeat.
Despite confusion over marketing strategies and parting ways with Sony UK, Tipper’s debut garnered widespread critical acclaim from EDM lovers and critics. The album’s success allowed Tipper to make music for ad campaigns for multinational companies including the car manufacturer Renault.
Two more labels after the first album
After his debut album, Tipper produced music under the label Fuel Records. In 2002, he released his second studio album Holding Patterns through the label. He has also released three extended plays through Fuel Records, including Six Pack, Bassgunner and Twister. During his time with Fuel Records, Tipper toured numerously around the US, Australia and Europe.
He also popularized the Funktion-One speaker apparatus that Richie Warren & Co. had conceptualized. It serves an impromptu stage sound system to create a happening sound anytime and anywhere.
Delving into the surround sound and onwards
In 2003, Tipper released his third studio album, Surrounded, through MyUtopia Records. This album was digitally mastered by Tipper to play on Dolby surround systems and in 5.1 surround systems.
This down tempo album took him to a non-stop world tour at many cities around the world. He would play events in 5.1 surround systems, wherever they were available, to let the audience experience his music properly.
Because of the high quality and dual-disc nature of the album, it has been used by a number of companies to promote the high quality of their product by playing Surround to their customers.
His own Tippermusic and the journey so far
2005 witnessed the establishment of Tipper’s own music label titled, Tippermusic. Because of the declining interest in vinyl and discs by EDM enthusiasts, Tippermusic produces high quality digital music for its clientele.
Through Tippermusic, Tipper released nine studio albums starting from Tip Hop in 2005 and ending in the latest one Forward Escape in 2014. In just under half a decade, Tipper also populated his discography with six EPs released through his own label. These include Shatter Box, Puzzle Dust, Fathoms, Bubble Control, Snakes Eyes and Dusty Bubble Box.
Tipper has also been on an extensive tour for the promotion of these albums. His electronic trickery in EDM has also extended into other subgenres such as ambient, downtempo, trip hop, glitch hop and glitch-step.
The Red Rocks Amphitheatre as a canvas
Tipper and his friends are now being presented by entertainment giants, Live Nation and the Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom.
The event is one of the top displays of psychedelic music, visuals and experience in the world. It is a proud amalgamation of renowned artists Alex and Allyson Grey, Android Jones, OTT and many others.
These artists are coming to Morrison, Colorado where they will be performing at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre. So grab Tipper tickets and enjoy his music and collaborations.
