After signing a record deal with UK based indie record label called Lizard King Records, the group caused quite a stir following the release of its leadoff single called Mr. Brightside. The single was premiered on BBC Radio 1, and the response that the single received turned the Killers in one of the most promising acts of that time. This stir caused in U.K, also attracted attention back at home in United States. A number of record labels showed interest in signing the band, and the group finally settled for Island Def Jam Records.
The June of 2004 saw the release of group's debut album, Hot Fuss. Prior to that group was out enjoying good sales of the Killers tickets while it toured around United Kingdom in support of its upcoming release. While doing so, it also played its sets at various Music festivals all over North America and Europe. This extensive amount of live performances and their previously released singles translated into huge commercial success of Hot Fuss. The album topped the U.K Albums Chart in 2005, and only seven months into its official release in U.K, it attained 7x Platinum status as per BPI. The album went on global rampage, topping charts in Australia, Canada, and United States as well. Later that year, at the Grammy Award ceremony, the group claimed three nominations including a nomination for the category of Best Rock Album.
Hot Fuss proved to be the perfect debut material for the group that helped it catapult itself to the height of mainstream popularity while garnering increasing number of fans. The group continued its streak of success as it moved on to record and released new material. When You Were Young was released as the first single from its second album Sam's Town. The single premiered in 2006 and soon became critically acclaimed and commercially the same as well. The group took its spot at the top of the UK Albums Chart once again following the release of Sam's Town, which also peaked at #2 on U.S Albums Chart. The album sold 706, 000 in its first week of sales. By now, The Killers albums and their concerts became a sure shot success, as evident from huge sales of albums and the Killers tickets.
In 2007, the group claimed two BRIT Awards which was followed by yet another win and this time at the NME Awards for the category of Best Video for the song Bones. Also in the same year, the group came up with some of its unreleased material as well as a compilation of its previous hits in an album it called Sawdust. The success of the album went deep in the group's favor and apart from huge amount of sales, it also brought home two NME Awards in 2008. The group kept on being a regular winner at NME award by claiming yet another award for the category of Best International Band following the release of its follow up album called Day & Age. The group support the album with its hugely successful Day & Age Tour on which the group sold out numerous venues all across the globe.
After going on a break for about year and a half, the band made its much awaited comeback in 2011 when the fans caught the Killers performing live at International Lollapalooza Festival in Santiago, Chile. Besides frequently headlining various music festivals, the group also started recording its forthcoming album called Battle Born which was later release to much critical success on September 17, 2012.

The Killers announce 'Wonderful Wonderful' world tour
The Killers Score First Number One Album
American rock band The Killers recently earned their first number one music album with ‘Wonderful, Wonderful.’ The LP sold 118,000 record equivalent units to surpass ‘Concrete and Gold’ of Foo Fighters and occupy the top spot. The band’s previous highest charting album was ‘Sam’s Town.’ It debuted at the second spot in 2006. The Killers’ last full-length record ‘Battle Born’ came out in 2012 and reached the third spot.
The musicians recently appeared on ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ where they played the single ‘The Man’ from their new album. The Killers will be back on the road this October.
The Killers Announce 2018 Australian Tour Dates
The Killers have been on fire ever since they released their album, ‘Hot Fuss’ in 2004. The band is now going to churn out its fifth studio effort, ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ after five years since their 2012’s, ‘Battle Born.’ They have recently announced that they will be making their way to Australia and New Zealand next year in 2018 to support their upcoming LP. The group will play their first concert at the Spark Arena on April 20th. They will then go on to play show in cities like, Wellington, Brisbane and Sydney before they perform their last gig in Australia on May 4th.
The Killers Announce ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ World Tour
American rock band The Killers recently announced an extensive world tour in support of their music album ‘Wonderful Wonderful.’ Following the European run, the tour will visit North America for a total of eighteen shows. Among the prominent cities on the itinerary are New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami and their hometown of Las Vegas. This will be their first official road trip since the Battle Born World Tour in 2013.
The record ‘Wonderful Wonderful’ is slated to release via Island Records on September 22. The Killers’ previous album ‘Battle Born’ reached the third spot on the Billboard 200 and was a number one hit in the UK.

The wait is finally over as the winner of two Brit Awards, The Killers will be releasing a new album soon. They recently unveiled that they have almost completed the work on their upcoming studio record and also stated that they will perform new songs when they perform at the Hyde Park this summer. They have been working on their fifth studio effort since September and they plan to release it later this year. Moreover, the band is on tour as of now and will be concluding the trek by performing the last show at Lollapalooza on August 4th.
