Sublime with Rome Tickets

Sublime with Rome is a collaborative band consisting of Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, members of a former group Sublime which was headed by Bradley Nowell, and guitarist/singer Rome Ramirez. The three began performing together in 2009 playing under the title of Sublime, till the time when a legal challenge was issued by Nowell’s estate with reference to the use of trademark name for an undertaking that did not involve Nowell. Consequently, the group changed its name to Sublime with Rome in early 2010, while continuing to primarily perform Sublime’s covers. The trio performed in the Smokeout Festival of 2009, and went on their first tour the following year, alongside releasing their first album called Yours Truly in mid 2011. Later that year, Gaugh announced that he would be leaving the band. The group is associated with several big musical acts including Long Beach Db Allstars, Lon Beach Shortbus, Eyes Adrfit, Volcano, The Stiff Richards, Del Mar and 311. Owing to its member’ association with several other famous bands, Sublime Concert Tickets are considered to be a real treat among hip hop fans.

Date & Time

Sublime with Rome’s earliest two members, Gaugh and Wilson began work in 1997 with Long Beach Dub Allstars, which was their undertaking since Nowell’s death. The two performed songs from their previous band alongside new tracks. The Long Beach group broke up in 2002, from whereon Wilson decided to found a new band called Long Beach Shortbus, whereas Gaugh created Volcano and Eyes Adrift, with the former featuring vocalist/guitarist from the band Meat Puppets.  In early 2009, Wilson and Gaugh reunited for a Nevada performance, calling themselves Sublime. The twosome was joined by a third musician Rome Ramirez from Northern California, who at the time was only twenty and had already collaborated with Eric Wilson in RAWsession in which the two played Sublime tracks including Boss DJ and Saw Red. The three held another concert performance at the Smokeout Festival in Cypress Hill, where other musical acts including Pennywise, Bad Brains, Deftones, Slipknot and Kottonmouth Kings were also playing.

In 2010, Sublime with Rome embarked upon their first tour of the US, following which they signed with Fueled by Ramen label, releasing its very first studio offering the following year called Your Truly, which was dedicated to the memory of Nowell. The album was produced by Pual Leary and recorded in El Paso in Texas at the Sonic Ranch. The album garnered much critical acclaim in shape of positive reviews including one by Allmusic in which Jason Lymangrover observes that though the album does not serve as a match to the discography of Sublime with reference to its caliber, it is nonetheless an intriguing spin-off. noticed that this debut album was a ‘solid release’ consisting of songs which would be a treat for the original Sublime following while still upholding a sense of originality due to Rome’s flair. The album peaked on the ninth position on the Billboard 200 charts of 2011.

The personnel on the first Sublime with Rome album included Maggie Walters and Aimee Allen as additional vocalists, while Todd Forman worked on saxophones, and DJ Rocky Rock covered the DJ/Turntables. The songs list included Panic, which was the most successful single of the lot, followed by Only, Lovers Rock, Murdera, My World, Paper Cuts, PCH, Same Old Situation, Can You Feel, Spun, You Better Listen, and Take It or Leave It.  Panic and Take It or Leave It were released as singles with the former peaking on the ninth spot on US alternative charts and eleventh spot in the Canadian Alternative charts, while the latter appeared on the twenty-third place in the US charts.

Sublime with Rome tour went on its second called 311 Unity Tour in 2011. At the end of 2011, the group announced Bud Gaugh’s decision to leave the band whose spot would be filled by Josh Freese for live performances. The band continues to create more songs in the dub, hip hop alternative rock, reggae and ska punk genres, delivering a delightful mix of flavors.
