Reaching for the Stars
Salt-N-Pepa was formed when Cheryl James bumped into Sandra Denton while studying nursing at the Queensborough Community College. The pair then met Hurby “Luv Bug” Azor and the trio became good friends. Due to their identical taste in music, the girls decided to start a group and soon, issued their first studio album, ‘Hot, Cool & Vicious’ in 1986.
The album turned them into huge stars as it not only went platinum in the U.S. but also made The Source’s list of the, ‘100 Best Rap Albums.’ Considering the amount of success they achieved, they decided to keep recording music together and released their next studio effort, ‘A Salt with a Deadly Pepa.’ It was followed by their second platinum record, ‘Blacks’ Magic.’
Salt-N-Pepa became a global phenomenon when their fourth studio effort, ‘Very Necessary’ hit the stores. It is widely considered as the best album of their career as the record not only reached fourth spot on the Billboard 200 but also went five and four times platinum in the U.S. and Canada respectively. The record produced a single, None of Your Business which won them their first Grammy for, ‘Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group.’
The group is now scheduled to play a show at the Fiserv Forum. So, if you want to enjoy their performance live, then book your Salt-N-Pepa Milwaukee WI tickets today.
