Rob Thomas made his way into the music industry back in 1993 when he founded the jam/alternative rock band ‘Tabitha’s Secret.’ Initially comprising members, Jay Stanley and John Goff on guitars, Chris Smith as the drummer, Brian Yale on bass and Rob Thomas as the lead vocalist, Tabitha’s Secret performed till 1995 after which the band became ‘Matchbox Twenty.’ Signing on with Atlantic Records, Rob Thomas as part of the newly formed band released the 12x platinum (US) certified album, ‘Yourself or Someone like You’ in 1996. Since then, Matchbox Twenty has released 4 studio albums, selling over 30 million album copies internationally.

Rob Thomas decided to pursue a career as a solo artist when Matchbox Twenty went on a hiatus in 2004. He released his debut album in 2005. Titled ‘…Something to Be’, the release made its way to top 20 in UK, Australia, US, Germany, Canada, Sweden and New Zealand (including number 1 in Australia and the US). Prior to releasing ‘The Great Unknown’, Rob Thomas came forth with ‘Cradlesong’ in 2009. The album reached 3rd place in the US and Australia and 8th place in Canada.
