Rob Thomas’ Career in Matchbox Twenty

Robert Kelly Thomas more popularly known by his stage name Rob Thomas is an alternative/pop rock singer, record producer, songwriter and musician who rose to fame in the nineties as the lead singer of the platinum selling group, Matchbox Twenty. As part of this band, Rob released 4 studio albums, 3 video albums and a compilation record. Its most successful album so far is the 1996 album, ‘Yourself or Someone like You’ that sold a whopping twelve million copies in the US alone (12x platinum certified). Matchbox Twenty released its most recent album in 2012. Titled ‘North,’ the record reached number one in the US apart from being certified platinum in Australia. With this Rob has claimed 2 Grammys, 2 AMAs, a People’s Choice Award and an MTV Video Music Award win.
