Paul Weller Tickets
Despite being compared with none other than David Bowie, it is interesting how Paul Weller has remained a national star, rather than an international super star like Bowie. Part of the reason is that his music is rooted in British culture. The ace singer, songwriter and musician from Surrey, England, was in the forefront of the 1970s and 80s mod revival, rightfully earning the title of “The Modfather”. If you love punk rock, new wave and mod revival music, then the news is that “The Modfather” will soon be amongst you. With these Paul Weller tickets in hand, you can watch this icon play live on stage. So, do not wait and get your tickets now as they won’t last long.

In 2007, BBC described Weller as “one of the most revered music writers and performers of the past 30 years”.
All great musicians fall in love with music very early in their lives and Weller’s life was no exception. It didn’t take him long to fall in love with The Beatles, Small Faces and The Who. By the time he turned eleven, he had started to play the guitar.
The watershed moment is his life came in 1972 when he went to see Status Quo live concert. He formed a band of his own soon after, which largely comprised of his friends. Weller’s father became the band’s manager and started getting them bookings at the local club scene. This four-piece band soon became a local hit for not just playing The Beatles covers but also Weller’s compositions.
The Jam Era
The Jam was formed in 1972, and Weller was its founding member. A punk rock band, The Jam emerged at the same time as the Sex Pistols, The Damned and The Clash. The Jam, in many ways were like their contemporaries in having the angry young men outlook, but they were also different in other ways. The Jam soon became famous for wearing smartly cut suits, rather than ripped clothes. The band released 6 studio albums, out of which all except their debut album, were certified Silver or higher in the UK. The Gift, their last and sixth studio album, was not only certified Gold in the UK, but also charted at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart. Their hit singles, “The Bitterest Pill (I Ever Had to Swallow),” “Strange Town,” “Art School” and “All Around the World” are still etched in their fans’ minds.
In 1982, The Jam disbanded due to Weller’s desire to explore a more melodic and soulful style of music.
The Style Council of Weller
In 1983, Weller formed The Style Council. As he wanted to make music in other genres, The Style Council was a soul, jazz, new wave and pop rock band. The band released six studio albums, out of which four were certified Silver or higher in the UK. The Style Council’s second album, Our Favorite Shop charted at No.1 on the UK Albums chart and became their most commercially successful album. It spawned some hit singles such as “Walls Come Tumbling Down!” “Boy Who Cried Wolf,” “The Lodgers” and “Come to Milton Keynes.”
After this band disbanded in 1989, Weller found himself “out of job”. With no band and a recording deal for the first time since he was 17, Weller hit the road. After a slow start playing small clubs, Weller finally established himself as a solo star.
Weller’s Solo Work
As a solo artist, Weller has released 13 studio albums, 39 singles, 4 compilation albums and an equal number of live albums. All of his studio albums with the exception of his latest album, have been certified Silver or higher in the UK. One of his albums, Stanley Road was certified 4×Platinum in the UK. It also debuted at No.1 on the UK Albums chart.
Released in 1995, Stanley Road was a commercial blockbuster that also gathered favorable reviews from the critics. In 1998, Q magazine declared it the 46th greatest album of all time. “I Walk on Gilded Splinters” and “The Changingman” were two of the biggest hit singles from the album.
Weller’s latest album, A Kind Revolution was released in 2017 and he is out on the road again promoting this latest effort of his. If you’re a fan of Weller’s then get your Paul Weller tickets now and enjoy the very best of this hidden English musical gem.
