Cannon’s Career as a Musician
Nick Cannon was inclined towards music from an early age. He began his music career in the year 1999. Cannon was still in his teens at the time. Soon he formed a rap group by the name of Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad.
In 2001, Cannon cracked a deal with Jive Records and featured on a cover version of the song Parents Just Don’t Understand. This was for the soundtrack of the movie Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Two years later, he released his self-titled record and in 2005 formed a label of his own Can-I-Ball Records. He then released his first single titled Can I Live?, on the newly formed label. However, the label was cancelled thereafter and replaced by a new one - N' Credible Entertainment in 2009.
The American rapper then treated the fans to his debut mix-tape Child of the Corn in December of 2011. It was followed by The Gospel of Ike Turn up: My Side of the Story in November, 2016.
Comedian and Radio Host
In the year 2010, Nick Cannon began a new venture as host of a morning show at 92.3 NOW FM. Following this, he was signed on for a weekly show called Cannon’s Countdown. The same year, Nick announced a comedy tour, Just For Laughs and the following year he recorded the stand-up special Mr Showbiz in Las Vegas.
TV and Film Career
In 2005, Nick Cannon created, produced and hosted the MTV comedy series titled Wild ‘N Out. This was also the year he had the opportunity of hosting Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards. After this, Cannon performed as a DJ on the Bigger, Longer and Wider show.

In early 2012, the multi-talented star created the comedy TV series Incredible Crew. During this time, he also began appearing in the music video TV series called TeenNick Top 10. The following year he was honored at the Ebony Magazine Power 100 Awards. In 2014, he was signed for the comedy drama musical movie School Dance. The same year, he took on the job of hosting NBC’s Caught on Camera. That year, Cannon also made an appearance in the American movie Drumline. In the year 2015, he returned to host the eighth season of Wild ‘N Out.
Business & Charity
Apart from being a top-notch entertainer, Nick Cannon is involved in numerous entrepreneurial ventures. He runs the multimedia company Ncredible Entertainment which is responsible for launching various film, television and music projects. He is the CEO of the popular teen magazine called Celebrity High and has also been the chairman of Nickelodeon network’s TeenNick since the year 2009.
In 2015, Nick Cannon was named the CCO for the wireless and electronic store network called RadioShack. Despite his entertainment and entrepreneurial endeavors, Cannon devotes much of his time to support charitable causes. He runs his own charity – the Nicholas Scott Cannon Foundation and donates to several other charitable organizations.
