Journey tickets will give you the chance to take a musical journey with one of the most accomplished music acts of today. Setting out on their musical journey, the band formed during the early seventies in San Francisco. Originally set up as a group to back up local Bay area artists, this band created waves with smash hit singles like, “Don’t Stop Believing.” Originally the band was called the Golden Gate Rhythm Section but upon realizing that they weren’t satisfied with being a mere back up group, they decided to change their name. A radio contest was held so that fans could flood in their ideas too but the efforts were all in vain. Finally a roadie suggested the name Journey and it clicked instantly with all the band members. They next shifted their attention to their music which defiantly needed alterations and so a more jazz-fusion musical style was adopted for this purpose.
The Journey has created some blockbuster singles over the years. One of their recent releases, Revelation contained singles which topped all musical charts. The album itself made it huge, peaking Billboard Top Independent Albums charts. Perching at the number five position on the Billboard 200, Journey tickets soon became hot commodities among music buffs of the nation. The band toured extensively during the initial stages while constantly making endeavors to change their music style. The band also underwent a great many personnel alterations. The only constant factor in the band was the music prodigy, Neal Schon. The talent machine was part of the former Carlos Santana band.
The first three albums they produced received mediocre fame so they decided to go for a strong vocalist and so Steve Perry was hired for that purpose. The impact of the band’s wise decision was evident with the sales of their fourth album, selling over a million copies in the initial year. Infinity and Evolution both did quite well for themselves. The first three albums were largely instrumentals consisting of jazz rock music. They next ventured on a Live album, Captured. The album Escape catapulted them to unseen heights of stardom, gaining them recognition among the top pop groups. The album contained in it three top ten hits including, "Open Arms," "Who’s Crying Now" and "Don’t Stop Believin’." The album topped all music charts and did a wonderful business, selling over millions of copies in its initial year.
Frontiers releasing during the early eighties featured hits like, Separate Ways. The success so many albums compelled Perry release a solo album, Street Talk. The album released in 1984 and achieved double platinum status. After two years elapsed the band thought of making another album thus releasing Raised on Radio. They band may have lost its original members but one thing remains constant throughout, their classic jazz rock sound!
Journey’s golden period was the seventies and eighties when it temporarily disbanded. Their super hit single, "Don’t Stop Believin’" is till date the top selling catalog track in iTunes history. Their highest charting US hit as "Open Arms." The nineties saw the band reuniting again. They found all the more reason to rejoice with their hit single, "When you Love a Woman." Two of their albums have reached gold status, eight achieved multi-platinum status. They managed to give a diamond album as well. Eighteen of their singles have been in the Top 40 hit list. Many of their hits have made it to the Top 10 of the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. Allmusic is said to have described the band as one of America’s most beloved bands.
