The iconic rock bands have unveiled more than sixty dates for their North American tour along with stops in three Canadian cities. Together the two legendary artists will kick off things on May 15 at the Sunlight Supply Amphitheater in Ridgefield, Washington. The mammoth trek comes to an end on September 12 with a performance at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, New York. An Ambitious Tour
Experience the ultimate classic rock this spring and summer because the two veteran rock bands are cruising across the US cities. They are slated to deliver a hits-packed set on their five months long tour that includes more than 60 shows and stops at three Canadian cities including Toronto, Vancouver and Quebec City.
Journey
Journey came together in 1973 and has nineteen Top 40 singles along with 25 gold and platinum albums. Don’t Stop Believin’ rockers have sold almost 100 million albums worldwide. Their “Greatest Hits” record that arrived in 1988 by Columbia Records is certified 15 times-platinum and is their best-selling career album.
The band’s lineup has been changing over the years. Now Neal Schon, Ross Valory, longtime members Jonathan Cain and Steve Smith, along with lead singer Arnel Pineda, who joined in 2007 make up the band. Steve Perry who served as a vocalist left the band in 1996. Journey became Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees in 2017.
On the upcoming trek they will be treating fans to their classic numbers such as “Open Arms,” “Faithfully,” “Lights,” “Any Way You Want It,” “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart),” “Wheel In The Sky,” and ofcourse the top-selling digital catalog track in history “Don’t Stop Believin’.”
The Pretenders
The Pretenders were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005. The English-American rock outfit has sold more than 25 million albums. Over the years, under founder of the band Chrissie Hynde the band went through a lot of line-up changes but continued to give hits. Chrissie Hynde is regarded as one of contemporary music's greatest songwriters. The rock legend released a memoir in 2015 titled “Reckless: My Life As a Pretender.”
The Pretenders still fronted by Chrissie Hynde look strong as ever. Their latest album “Alone” arrived on 2016 and received positive response. It was produced by the Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach. The band is known for gems like “Back On The Chain Gang,” “I’ll Stand By You,” “Brass In Pocket,” “2000 Miles,” “My City Was Gone” and “Don’t Get Me Wrong.” The band continues to tour and performs in sold out venues.
