About Heilung

Heilung is a diverse band featuring three members who hail from different places of the world. It is an experimental ensemble which basis its music on the artifacts taken from the Iron Age. These artifacts were derived by the Northern European of the Celtic and Viking Age. The music produced by the band is described as the "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe". Founded by a tattoo artist, a Norwegian singer and a Danish Producer the band was formed in 2014, releasing their debut album Ofnir in 2015. The band members decided to ditch the conventional ways and tried something new. They started making music and invented their own genre known as the 'Amplified History'.

The name of the band, Heilung means 'Healing' and is taken from the German Language. The group derives its music style from the name itself. They believe that a person should feel at ease while he is listening to their music. The band has not limited itself to music but they have expanded and also experiment with poetry. Maintaining its unique presence the band has used rare instruments like buffalo horn rattles, blood-painted/animal skin covered drum, Hindu ritual bell, human and animal bones to produce percussive sound.
