How It All Started
City Morgue is founded by Junius Rogers or more famously known as Zillakami. Before starting the group, he became a ghostwriter for the multi-platinum recording hip-hop star 6ix9ine. While working with the famed rapper, he wrote a song for him that required two vocalists to feature. This led to 6ix9ine asking him to collaborate which resulted in the song Yokai. The pair worked again and released their second collaborative track, Hellsing Station. However, the two could not get along with each other and went their separate paths in 2017. During the same year, he dropped his debut mixtape, 'LifeIsAHorrorMovie.'
Zillakami then soon befriended the son of the owner of the tattoo parlor who goes by the stage name SosMula. The two decided to make music together and so, City Morgue saw the light of the day. The duo then had a meeting with the record producer Bouabdallah Sami Nehari who is known professionally as Thraxx and added him to the band.
Making Their Moves
City Morgue kicked off their journey by releasing their extended play, 'Be Patient' in 2018. Issued by Hikari-Ultra, this EP contained three tracks, Trainspotting, Drag Me to Hell and Nitro Cell. He then followed it up by spawning his debut mixtape, 'City Morgue Vol 1: Hell or High Water.' The mixtape was composed of fourteen tracks including, Nuka Cola, Downer and So What.
New Music and Tour
In 2019, City Morgue returned and dropped their first studio album, 'City Morgue Vol 2: As Good as Dead.' The album featured twelve songs on the track-list including, 16 Toes, Soul Burn, Peeling Scabs, Dirtnap and The Balloons. The record helped bring them some popularity in the United States which is the why guys have announced their promotional tour to support this record across North America. They are scheduled to start the trek on February 21, 2020. So, if you are interested in attending one of their shows live then book your City Morgue tickets.
