The Beginning of Breaking Benjamin
Breaking Benjamin is a Wilkes-Barre based rock band that was formed in 1999. The band got its name when Benjamin broke a mic while performing a Nirvana song on stage. The band’s current lineup consists of Benjamin Burnley as the lead vocalist, Aaron Bruch playing bass, Keith Wallen as rhythm guitarist, Jasen Rauch on lead guitars and Shaun Foist as the band’s drummer.
Early Album Releases by the Rock Band
Over the years, Breaking Benjamin has released 5 studio albums, the first release coming forth in 2002 titled ‘Saturate.’ The album made its way to the Billboard 200 after which the rock band was seen performing as part of the Jagermeister Music Tour and Godsmack’s 2003 tour. With the success of the band’s debut album, Breaking Benjamin came forth with its sophomore release in 2004. Titled ‘We Are Not Alone,’ the record reached the top 20 on the Billboard and sold a massive 48,000 copies in the first week alone.

Other successful releases include the 2006 album, ‘Phobia’ that reached the second place on the Billboard 200 and Mainstream Rock Songs. The hit singles from the record include number 1 charting track ‘Breath’. After the release of Breaking Benjamin’s fourth record (Dear Agony), the group went on a hiatus for 3 years and reunited in 2014. The group’s latest studio album is already doing well debuting at the top of the Billboard 200 and consisting of hit singles ‘Failure’, ‘Angels Fall’ and ‘Defeated’.
