The upcoming concert at the Benaroya Hall will feature the American singer, Brandi Carlile. Born in 1981, Brandi is from Ravensdale, Washington. She began playing the guitar at a very young age. At fifteen, Brandi sung a cover of ‘Tennessee Flat Top Box’ by Johnny Cash and was hired as a backup singer by an Elvis impersonator. After the singer was diagnosed with ADD, she dropped out of school and decided pursue her true passion that was singing. She started off by playing in coffeehouses and clubs in Seattle. Her band members included Phil and Tim Hanseroth. Brandi’s big break came in 2004 when the singer was approached by Columbia Records. She released her debut self-titled record in the same year. It went onto receive a 4.5 out of 5 star rating by AllMusic. It also reached number one on the US Billboard Folk chart.

Brandi Carlile released her sophomore album, ‘The Story’ in 2007. The album made its way to the US Billboard 200 as well as the Portuguese 20 Albums chart. Fan favorites from the record include the title track, ‘Hiding My Heart,’ ‘Secret Love’ and ‘Song beneath the Song.’ ‘The Story’ reached gold status, selling sold 300,000 copies. In the following years, the singer released two studio albums, ‘Give up the Ghost’ (2009) and ‘Bear Creek’ (2012).
