One half of the Bobby Jones and the Raging Idiots, Bobby Jones was born in the city of Hot Springs. He began to dream about making a career as a radio presenter at a young age. Jones soon turned his dream into a reality by finding a job at Henderson State University’s , KSWH-FM 91.1 when he was 17. Five years later, he graduated from that same institution with a B.A degree in Radio/Television in 2002.
In the early part of his career, Bobby Jones was seen working in multiple radio stations. He was first hired at KLAZ where the manager of the station asked him to go on air either as Bobby Bones or Bobby Z. He chose the former and kicked off his journey as a radio presenter. He was later recruited by Q100/KQAR in Little Rock and soon, the Arkansas native found himself working for ALICE 107.7. Jones later arrived in Austin where he joined 96.7 KISS FM and began to host, ‘The Bobby Bones Show.’
