Canadian-American musician extraordinaire Alanis Morissette entered the music industry in the late 80s. Her heartfelt mezzo-soprano singing immediately set her apart and it remains one of her signature qualities.

Born in Ottawa, the multi-Grammy winner released a few dance-pop albums to moderate success in the country of her origin. In the early 90s, she shifted base to the US as part of an agreement signed with a record label. A few years later, she came out with the album that would change her career trajectory once and for all.

Jagged Little Pill, Morissette’s third studio record, saw the light of day in 1995 and became an instant hit. Critics appreciated it and the fans loved it so much that it became one of the best-selling debut albums ever. To date, more than 33 million copies of Jagged Little Pill have been sold.
