Venues of Sault Ste Marie

Sault Ste. Marie tickets are your passes to a great historic and happening city in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The city is often referred to as Pure Michigan. It is the first city to be formed at the waterfront of the state. It became and remained one of the most important ones for centuries. The city has a great mix of attractions for everyone visiting it. It has beautiful backwoods, sandy beaches, historic sites, delicious food, and festivals.

Sault Ste. Marie is famous for the Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at the Whitefish Point. Here, you will find wrecks of historical ships; the bell of Edmund Fitzgerald is the most famous one. Museum Ship Valley Camp is gold if you are interested in maritime history. It holds the historical Lake Freighter and hundreds of other exhibits from the famous WWII Valley Camp.

Tahquamenon Falls is a popular spot for nature lovers. This is the second largest waterfall on the eastern side of the Mississippi. It is a part of the Tahquamenon Falls State Park, where you can all day in the waters of the Lower Falls. Many visitors also take a boat ride or go kayaking to discover five other falls in the area as well as the islands around them. The Upper Falls are a special treat for the eyes; it is amazing to see how beautifully the river flows here.

Sault Ste. Marie also has a very busy port which joins Lake Huron to Lake Superior. Here giant ships from all over the world arrive and then move on to their respective journeys. The waters of St. Mary's River are particularly good for fishing. From real fisherman to simple family members having a picnic, everyone can enjoy their own catch of the day.

It is said that "The Soo" has something to offer every time. Nature lovers come here mostly to see the world renowned Soo Locks. This is a place where visitors can see the untouched wilderness of Michigan; it is like none other in the country. The Locks Boat Tours are the best way to explore these locks. Here you can enjoy everything from fine dining on the cruise to a detailed trip to the historical Point Iroquois Lighthouse. This Lighthouse is located on the beach, along the shore of the Lake Superior. It has been of great importance to the waterfront community living here for centuries. The seventy two step climb to the top of this Lighthouse gives you amazing views of the area. You can also enjoy strolls along the beach.

Evenings at the Soo have a beautiful sky; they offer a spectacular view of the Northern Lights. These solar flares are rare a phenomenon that appears in these skies. At times they seem so close to the ground that one feels that they can actually reach out to touch them. So keep yourself all geared up for a visit to the Soo Locks and the rest of the city. All you need to do is book your tickets. So act now!
