The Progress Energy Centre is called home by the symphony of North Carolina. You are lucky to have this venue of 1700 seats in your city that holds several events such as musicals and concerts. Progress Energy Center Meymandi Hall tickets are selling for thr many upcoming exciting shows. The arena is wonderfully designed with a ceiling 65 feet high and a unique shape of a shoebox makes it different from all the other venues. The sides of the hall are narrow; the balconies are shallow and the lack of proscenium makes it possible for the venue to deliver a clear, the most immersive, and warm sound. The hall’s outstanding acoustics are lauded by both the national and international stars. It is the main venue of performing arts in the city and consists of Lichtin Plaza, Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, A. J. Fletcher Opera Theater, Meymandi Concert Hall, and Kennedy Theater.

Raleigh Memorial Auditorium opened in 1932 in order to replace the original City Auditorium of 1912, which was destroyed in 1930 due to fire. Minor improvements were made in 1963 and 1977, to renovate the auditorium completely in 1990. An external modern glass courtyard and lobby were added. Fletcher Opera Theater contains six hundred seats and provides a closer room for operatic and solo performances, chamber music, and other group productions as well. Then there is Kennedy Theatre with 150 seats, offering an ample space for experimental theatre and nontraditional performances. Lichtin Plaza is a lawn that is built on 2-acre land facing the Progress Energy Center. It often serves as a venue to hold outdoor festivals.

This season the arena will be welcoming The Carolina Chocolate Drops, which is a string band from North Carolina. Their album, ‘Genuine Negro Jig’ earned them Grammy Awards in the category of ‘Best Traditional Folk Album.’ Del McCoury Band will be performing at the venue as well. It is a bluegrass band and has been nominated for Grammy for the album It's Just the Night, in 2004 and in 2006 the ensemble won the prestigious award for The Company We Keep. The group has performed with The Lee Boys, mixing funk, bluegrass, and gospel.

Another great show is also going to be held in the theatre featuring Lisa Lampanelli. She is a comedian who is known for her skills to insult people, especially movie stars, but of course without offending them. She was born in Connecticut but is recognized as a New Yorker as she started her career from the city. Not only does she target celebrities as her victims of insult but she also makes fun of herself for being overweight. She has given the nickname of Comedy's Lovable Queen of Mean and has also starred in movies. Progress Energy Center Meymandi Hall is equipped with the latest amenities, offering the attendees a lifetime experience.
