Ford Center IN Tickets

Ford Center IN is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in downtown Evansville, and has a seating capacity of eleven thousand. The center opened in November 2011, and has so far been primarily served as a venue for music concerts, basketball and ice hockey. It is the home-ground of the Evansville Purple Aces as well as the minor league hockey team Evansville IceMen of Central Hockey League. The facility is currently under the ownership of the City of Evansville, with Venueworks as its operator. The arena was designed by Populous Hafer Associates, with John J. Kish as its project manager, and was built with a construction cost of more than a hundred and twenty-seven million dollars. In its initial year, the center hosted performances by the likes of Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Lady Antebellum, Elton John, Reba and Cirque du Soleil, which held its Quidam show there. Ford Center IN was designed by the former HOK Sport architects, now known as Populous architects, and was built as a replacement for the famous Robert Municipal Stadium. The latter stadium was the home ground of Evansville Purple Aces of the NCAA, Evansville BlueCats of UIF, Evansville BlueCats of the NIFL and Evansville Thunder of the CBA. The multi-million dollar construction project was given approval by the City Council of Evansville in December 2008, and a year later demolition activity was begun on site. The center is surrounded by Main Street, Walnut Street, Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Sixth Street. According to the initial plan, the arena will be connected eventually to a convention hotel as well as the already present convention center. The name of the facility was announced in August 2011, and its naming rights were finalized from a result of ten year long agreement with the well-known Tri-State Ford Dealers, which was worth more than four million dollars.
 
The first ever public event hosted at Ford Center IN was a hockey game between Evansville IceMen and Fort Wayne Komets, played just a few days after the arena’s opening. This was followed by a Bob Seger concert in which he was accompanied by his Silver Bullet Band, only four days after the hockey event, marking the first concert performance in the arena. A few days later, basketball team Evansville Purple Aces played against the Butler Bulldogs there, which was the first basketball event of the stadium. At present the arena is planning to host America’s most loved motorsport event, Advance Auto Parts Monster Jam, along with country concert by Brad Paisley, The Band Perry, and Scotty McCreery as well as Journey, Loverboy and Pat Benatar.
