The CenturyLink Center is a convention center that is located in the downtown area of Omaha, which is the largest city of the American state, Nebraska. An additional two hundred and ninety one million dollars were provided by private institutions and individuals. At the time it was constructed it could provide a seating area for fourteen thousand five hundred hockey fans, fifteen thousand five hundred basketball lovers and approximately seventeen thousand concert spectators. A six million dollar expansive project was then initiated in 2006 which helped expand the facility’s space so that it could now provide room for nineteen thousand fans for music concerts, seventeen thousand seats for hockey spectators and can become host to eighteen thousand basketball fanatics.
Some of the most popular sports and athletics’ events that were held at this arena include the 2008 National Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament and the Wrestling Championships that were held in 2010. The World Wrestling Entertainment also held its 2008 Judgment Day event at the arena. In the same year, the CenturyLink Center became host to the USA Swimming Trials for the Olympics which attracted around twelve thousand spectators each night. Then in 2012 the National Collegiate Athletic Association Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament was held.
