The irresistibly fun, raucous rock musical is now getting ready for its extended run at the Music Hall at Fair Park. Based on the popular songs of the hit British rock band Queen, the musical is set in a fictional world called the iPlanet and takes the audience 300 years ahead in future. Queen entered the music industry in the 70s and instantly made their presence known through a conventional approach and by incorporating diverse styles into their compositions. The band that is still very much active with its two members, Brian May and Roger Taylor, in its peak years produced phenomenal rock anthems. These include “We Will Rock You” and the power ballad, “We Are the Champions”, which is inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame. We Will Rock You has created a legacy of its own; it was named among the “500 Greatest Songs of All Time”, made it to the “Songs of the Century” list and earned Grammy Hall of Fame induction. The track has been covered, sampled and remixed numerous times, and in 2002 was turned into a rock musical.

Having a futuristic approach to it, the musical is set 300 years ahead in time and takes the audience to the fictional iPlanet. Revolving around a group of rebellious Bohemians, they strive to change the world they are living in where everyone thinks alike, dresses the same and has a similar take on life. More importantly, it’s a world that has forbidden music and instruments.
