The setting of The Screwtape Letters is unique. When the curtain opens, you can see a rather fashionable and modish office which is based in hell. This setting of the play is then followed by the intensely quick and brainy plotting and scheming of the devil’s main psychiatrist known as Screwtape. The character of Screwtape is seen as an enticing man who lures and tempts a human patient toward the ultimate damnation. There is no doubt in the fact that the story of the play is completely topsy-turvy and it is one of those stories that are comprise of an ethically twisted universe in which God is rendered to be the "Enemy" or the "Villain" and the Devil on the other hand is all chaste and pure. The stakes are boomingly high as the basic source of food for the inhabitants of hell are the souls of humans as projected by the play.

The character of Screwtape is played by the brilliant actor Max McLean who has won several awards for his acting skills. He makes sure to bring out his character in the most profound manner by dazzling and spellbinding his audiences as he tempts his not so suspecting patient to go down the eerie pathway to hell. For his aid, Screwtape has an assistant by the name of Toadpipe which is acted out by Tamala Bakkensen and Beckly Andrews. Toadpipe is a monstrous and bizarre demon who has the abilities of transforming her rubber-like body into the epitome of vices. Screwtape has ordered his assistant Toadpipe to keep his human patient away from the supreme "Enemy" that being that character of God.
