Singer-songwriter Sting is all set to sail his new musical “The Last Ship” to Broadway after making a stop in Chicago. The Last Ship Chicago tickets present an entertaining musical that revolves around a close community sharing a strong bond and traditions. The show holds a concept that the audience can relate to. The performance is scheduled at the Bank of America Theatre. The venue has hosted premiers of known musicals such as High School Musical and Cyndi Lauper's Kinky Boots. The musical would be featuring Michael Esper who is known for his Broadway performances in “The Lyons” and “American Idiot” as well as an Irish singer and actress Rachel Tucker, known for her performance in “Wicked”.

Presenting a symbol of hope, The Last Ship is a musical creation that is relatively new.  Direction of this production has been given by Joe Mantello, the two-time Tony Award winner.  It is presented by the sixteen time Grammy Award winner Sting.  This multi faceted artist is an English singer-songwriter, activist, musician, multi-instrumentalist, actor and philanthropist. Inspired by the childhood experiences of Sting, the semi-autobiographical musical depicts a universal story about sons, fathers, family and the community surrounding them.

The musical is based on the writings of, "Next to Normal" writer and Pulitzer Prize winner, Brian Yorkey. Whereas, the story of the musical is by, "Red" playwright and Tony Award winner, John Logan.

The set opens in Wallsend, an English seafaring town. The story revolves around a close-knit community and their local shipyard. Constructing magnificent vessels is a matter of extreme pride for the working men of this community. Gideon Fletcher, who had much bigger dreams for himself leaves his love behind to explore future opportunities. When he returns after fourteen years he finds his love engaged to someone else and the shipyard in danger.
