Since then, it has gone on an American Tour in 2012, been produced in Chicago in 2012 and then the West End in 2013. A musical that has been dubbed “a crowning acheivment” by Jon Stewart, “the best musical of this century” by The New York Times, and “Grade-A” by Entertainment Weekly, The Book of Mormon is a show that theater enthusiasts should not  miss. The musical follows two missionaries as they go to Uganda on a conversion mission. Upon their arrival, they face a society vastly different from theirs and hence their mission takes an unexpected turn. Created by Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Robert Lopez of the South Park fame, fans can be sure that this musical will be packed with crude humor, high on satire and extremely entertaining.

While Parker, Stone and Lopez take on the task of perfecting the book, music and lyrics, the highly acclaimed Casey Nicholaw is the co-director and choreographer and Stephen Oremus joins the team as a music director. The production team comprises  some of the most imaginative professionals who succeed in making the musical truly entertaining.

The cast now includes Nic Rouleau in the role of Elder Price that was previously played by Mark Evans. And Ben Platt replaces Christopher John O’Neill as Elder Cunningham. An exceptional cast, a creative team that has outdone itself and a book and music that is as catchy as it is satirical, this musical is a treat for all those looking for some meaningful entertainment.

Over the course of its productions on Broadway and London, the musical has won a total of twenty eight awards including the highly coveted Laurence Olivier Award, Grammy and Tony. To enjoy the musical live, purchase The Book of Mormon Detroit Opera House tickets today.
