Temple of the Dog Tickets

In 1990, popular vocalist Andrew Wood passed away. His longtime friend Chris Cornell, at the time the lead singer of Soundgarden, decided to honor Wood’s memory by releasing an album featuring songs he had written after the death of his friend. Cornell asked the members of Pearl Jam, at the time an upcoming rock group, to join him in this project and together they formed a new super group, known as the Temple of the Dog. To date they have only released one self-titled album which came out in 1991 and went on to sell over two million copies around the world. Now you can see these legends in concert as well. Just get your Temple of the Dog tickets and enjoy the show, live.

Even though it sometimes seems like there are hundreds and hundreds of artists and bands around, the music industry is in fact a closely knit group. A lot of these stars personally know each other and respect each other’s work. This mutual admiration has resulted in some epic collaborations over the years, including Queen and David Bowie, B.B King and Eric Clapton, and perhaps one of the most surprising one of all, called the Temple of the Dog. When this group released their first and only album twenty five years ago, the world hadn’t yet realized the potential of its talented band members and it would take a few more years before they fully appreciated the impact this alliance would have on rock music in the future.

Slaves of rock and roll

The Temple of the Dog was a rock band created in 1990 by Chris Cornell of Soundgarden fame. He started this project as a tribute to his friend Andrew Wood, who had just passed away. Cornell asked some of Wood’s old band mates, as well as some other talented musicians to join him in making a one off album that would celebrate the life of their dear friend and honor his memory as a rock star. The resulting self-titled effort has since gone down in rock and roll lore as one of the defining albums of its time and as a blueprint for subsequent bands to emulate in their own recordings.

The album made it to number five on the US Music charts and number eleven in Canada. It was also certified platinum in both countries and produced a few hit singles as well. This was a huge victory for the various members of the band and you can check out some of their amazing material yourself, when these legends get together once again. Grab your Temple of the Dog tickets to watch the legends live.

A garden full of sound

One of the best things about the band was its incredible lineup. Led by Chris Cornell (lead vocals, banjo, guitar, harmonica), the group also contained five musicians that would later go on to form the world famous rock band Pearl Jam. They were Mike McCready (lead guitar), Stone Gossard (rhythm guitar), Jeff Ament (bass), Matt Cameron (drums) and Eddie Vedder (backing vocals, co-lead vocals, guitar).

Chris Cornell is an experienced musician who has been involved in the business for over thirty years. He came to prominence with his band Soundgarden and later enjoyed considerable success as a member of Audioslave, as well as a solo artist. In total, he has sold over twenty five million albums around the globe and has won several awards for his efforts as well, including a Satellite Award, an MTV Video Music Award and two Grammy Awards.

A pearl jammed among the rocks

Pearl Jam was created in 1990 and at the time of their involvement with the Temple of the Dog, they were still in search of their first big success. They released their debut album, “Ten” only a few months after the release of “Temple of the Dog” and it proved to be their breakout hit. The album was certified diamond in the US and platinum in several different countries around the world. They have since released nine more albums, with two recording multiplatinum sales, two recording platinum level sales and four going gold. They have now sold over an incredible sixty five million albums around the globe.

After going twenty five years without getting back together, the Temple of the Dog finally gave in to fan pressure and announced their plans to play a series of reunion concerts, starting from November. This is the first time in a very long while that all six band members will be present on stage together and is a great chance for their fans to catch their performance for themselves. Just book your Temple of the Dog tickets and don’t let this once in a lifetime opportunity pass you by.
