Something Rotten Los Angeles Tickets
“Something Rotten!” is one of the well-received original productions of recent years. It is a parody through and through, mocking and praising various theatrical genres simultaneously. While it pokes fun at the musical format, the whole play is in songs as well with William Shakespeare singing the endings to Macbeth and King Lear. Critics consider it a mix between “The Producers”, “The Book of Mormon” and “Spamalot”— basically, something you haven’t seen before. After a successful run on Broadway, the play is headed to the Ahmanson Theatre for the holiday season and Something Rotten Los Angeles tickets are still available for these shows.
About “Something Rotten”
This play is the story of two brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, who are trying to create a successful play. Things aren’t made easier for them as William Shakespeare has been penning one hit after another. A soothsayer informs the brothers that the future of theater is singing and dancing, after which the brothers begin writing the world’s first musical.
“Something Rotten!” is for anyone who is a fan of theater, or is hoping to have a good time with their family. The play is a clever portrayal of the way that theater has developed as well and therefore it makes an excellent first play for children. More than anything, “Something Rotten!” has ‘something’ for everyone; from the underdog who considers themselves stuck in an unhappy situation, to a theater geek, to someone looking to have a good evening out.
About the Production
The play initially debuted at the St. James Theatre on Broadway, New York City. It has achieved great critical acclaim and garnered ten Tony nominations including the Best Original Musical. On its Broadway run, the show earned a staggering $524,944.50. The musical is penned by best-selling author John O’Farrell and Tony nominated Karey Kirkpatrick, with music and lyrics by Wayne Kirkpatrick.
“Something Rotten!” officially closed on Broadway towards the end of 2016. However, it soon embarked on a national tour and is expected to go around the country through 2018 as well. “Something Rotten!” has extensive runs in Pittsburgh, Hershey, Boston and now it is headed to Los Angeles. The Ahmanson Theatre awaits fans of the show in December 2017 and Something Rotten Los Angeles tickets are selling out fast.
