Since the very beginning of 2000, the much loved musical, Sing A-long Sound of Music has been touring the United Kingdom performing at almost all the important venues of the country. An impressive cast of more than seven thousand prepared for the outdoors sing-a-long in 2001, held at the well-known Kenwood House of London. In a Sing A-long Sound of Music of 2001, Elton John and forty of his pals put on the nuns’ costumes, and prepared for a sing a-long with Julie, alongside which they hired a show to entertain a private party that was to celebrate the birth day of David Furnish. Following the rather celebratory lunch meal at Ivy, the group of forty got ready for the sing-a-long session and the famous faces that could be spotted beneath the wimple included the likes of David, and Elton, Joan Collins, Hugh Grant, Neil Tennant from The Pet Shop Boys, Janet Street Porter and Lulu. 
 
After the performance of Sing A-long Sound of Music, the first live show called Sing a-long-a Abba took place, which also happened to be celebrating its tenth anniversary at the time alongside its touring in 2011. The show turned out to be a major success being hosted by the West End at The Whitehall Theatre located in London, while it also played at places like Russia, St Petersburg, New Zealand and Toronto, as well as holding a complete sold-out staging in 2002 at the Edinburgh Festival.  The first time the idea of sing-a-long was taken seriously and developed into an actual was in 1999 when it was worked on for the Lesbian and Gay Film Festival of London, just before it was opened at Prince Charles Cinema in the August of the same year. Originally, the show was to have eight runs and they all sold out right away, and picked up incredible TV coverage alongside accumulating a heap of stories in the newspapers. The regularly schedules sessions of Sing a-long Sound of Music show then started at Prince Charles Cinema, where the show has been on the run ever since.  Other sing a-longs include The Wizzard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing Technical Dreamcoat which was created in 2002 by Donny Osmond, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Sing-a-long-a Elvis and Hairspray.
 
In 2001, in addition to Sing a-long Sound of Music shows, an addition of a film was made called Sing a-long-a-Grease, which has been asked about by audiences since its very first few days. The film has been on runs in London from May 2011 and has continued to tour around the United Kingdom since the start of 2012. The exciting element of sing-a-long show is that they are totally inclusive since the audience can join in as little or as much as they want to. It is not necessary to dress up according to the show though many people choose to do so and it only becomes more fun.  Before the show starts, the guests are led through a thirty minutes class of vocal warm-up, and are prepared for special moments marking the film, and it is during this time that the costumes are judged.
