Ragtime is a musical based on a book of the same name, written by E.L. Doctorow in 1975. It was adapted to the stage by famous playwright Terrence McNally in 1996 who got Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty to write the lyrics and music respectively for the show. The tale follows the lives of three very different families from diverse backgrounds and how their lives collide during the First World War.
