In the past, North Carolina Opera has brought quality works of art like Carmen, Love Letters, Il Trovatore, the Turn of the Screw, Faust, Les Enfants Terribles, and TOSCA. This season, the company pledges to bring nothing but the best again to all the fans of opera. With its upcoming season, the opera intends to commemorate the legacies of two the big names in the opera history, Giuseppe Verdi and Richard Wagner by celebrating their 200th anniversary under the leadership of Opera’s Director General Eric Mitchko. For its upcoming season, the North Carolina Opera will be staging its performances at Chapel Hill and Raleigh once again; its lineup of performers will feature both young performers as well as the veterans of operatic world. All the performances will be carried out under the supervision of Timothy Myers as its Principal Conductor as well as Opera’s Artistic Director. It has been announced that the North Carolina Opera will be opening up its upcoming season in Raleigh at the Meymandi Concert Hall with performances of some of the classics which came from the genius of Wagner. Some of the Wagner’s operas that are expected to be performed there include Die Walkure, Tristan Isolde, Die Meistersinger and many others. Since the forthcoming season will also be celebrating the works of Verdi, the audience members will also get a chance to witness a true classic of the operatic world, Aida by Verdi.
