Next to Normal is a rock musical theatrical production. The lyrics and the book of this musical have been written by Brian Yorkey. The music of the play has been composed by Tom Kitt. On the 27^th of March in the year of 2009, the Next to Normal musical production began its previews on the Broadway at the famous Booth Theatre. Then the play officially opened on the 15^th of April in 2009. The reviews that this musical got in its initial stages were very much favorable. In a very short period of time, the musical successfully became one of the Ten Best Theatrical Productions of the Year in 2009. Instantly, this musical set up a new box office record at the Booth Theatre on the weekend of the 3^rd of January in 2010. The musical grossed a total sum of $550,409 in just nine performances.
