Jesus Christ Superstar dramatizes the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem, the betrayal of Judas, the turmoil caused by popularity and preaching, and his crucifixion. The upcoming musical features Incubus singer, Brandon Boyd, NSYNC band member, JC Chasez and vocalist of Destiny’s Child, Michelle Williams. In the cast of over fifty actors, these artists will be showcasing their acting skills. Ben Forster will be playing Jesus in the musical, which has been called by promoters as a show “re-imagined for the 21st century as an arena rock spectacular.”
The show recently performed in Australia and Europe and its success led to the North American leg of the tour. The theatrical’s original production received five Tony nominations and later it was adapted as a film. This global phenomenon has inspired the audience for more than forty years and continues to rock the arenas.
