Festival of Disruption Tickets

David Lynch, the famous American director, producer, actor, musician and painter has been called “the most important director of this era” by The Guardian. When he is not making cult classics like Eraserhead, Lynch is promoting and organizing music festivals like the Festival of Disruption. This event, which marks the biggest celebration of indie music in the US, will again be held this year on October 14th-15th at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles. And what’s more, this year’s lineup is even bigger and better than its last year’s lineup. If you love indie rock and indie folk, then get Festival of Disruption tickets now. These tickets are selling out already and won’t be around for long.

Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles is different from other Ace Hotels, which are located all over the US. This hotel opened in the historic United Artists Building and boasts a restored United Artists Theatre performance venue.

Making its Debut

David Lynch’s Festival of Disruption made its debut in October, 2016, and featured some of the biggest artists of all time. Leading the pack was none other than Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin fame. In addition, Rhye, Sky Ferreira and St. Vincent also enthralled the audience with their live performances.

What Makes this Festival So Special?

This festival is not just a celebration of a music genre, in this case, indie music. What makes this festival special is that its proceeds benefit the David Lynch Foundation. The David Lynch Foundation works for the reduction of toxic stress and trauma among high-risk populations, including veterans suffering from PTSD, victims of domestic violence, and disadvantaged urban youth. The foundation employs evidence-based Transcendental Meditation technique to help these people.

Is the Festival Only About Music?

No. In addition to seeing live performances by Bon Iver, Maura Marling, Sharon Von Etten and TV on the Radio, you will also get to see some of Lynch’s movies such as Lost Highway and others. Some of “rare David Lynch shorts” will also be screened. This makes this festival a must-attend event for budding screenwriters, actors and directors. In addition, celebrities like Bill Pullman, Ed Ruscha, Pete Holmes and Sheryl Lee will give a talk.

Bob Roth, the famous meditation guru, will also be present at the 2017 Festival of Disruption, along with Brian Eno, the famous English musician. In addition, the festival will exhibit works of artists such as the famous American photographer, William Eggleston.

The main attraction of the festival, however, remains its ace-lineup, consisting of indie artists:

Bon Iver

Led by singer-songwriter, Justin Vernon, Bon Iver is a famous indie folk band founded in 2007. Bon Iver has released three studio albums to date, out of which the first two albums were certified Gold in the US. Their third and last album was certified Silver in the UK. Bob Iver won their first Grammy Award in 2012 in the “Best New Artist” category for their work “Bon Iver.” The band won its second Grammy in 2012 as well in the “Best Alternative Music Album” for Bon Iver, Bon Iver, the band’s sophomore album.

The Kills

The Kills is an American-British indie rock band consisting of singer Alison Mosshart and guitarist Jamie Hince. The duo is influenced by The Rolling Stones, Nirvana, The Clash and other bands. The Kills has released five studio albums, all of which charted on the UK chart. The Kills became famous for releasing hit singles such as “Black Balloon,” “Tape Song,” “No Wow,” “Love Is a Deserter,” “The Good Ones,” “Pull a U” and “Fried My Little Brains.” If you want to see The Kills play these songs live for you, then you need to be at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on October 14th-15th.
