Evita is thus an award winning musical, based upon the life of the famous Eva Peron, a famous political leader in Argentina. It follows her life, her rise to power, her work in charity and then her death.  It was adapted into a movie starring Madonna as Eva Peron and Antonia Banderas. It has also won several Olivier Awards, Drama Desk Awards and Outer Critics Circle Awards.
