Don Fedler's life story can be compared to any other great artist who discovered his love for music in an early age. He was interested in playing music since childhood. He taught himself to play the guitar but formally trained in music theory. He started off his musical career in his hometown Gainesville and then shifted to New York to become a studio musician. His struggle proved fruitful when the Eagles lead guitarist Bernie Leadon pushed him to relocate to California. His experience in the studio allowed him to tour with David Blue as well as the Eagles. It was the year 1974, when a jam session with the Eagles made Fedler a permanent part of the band. Frontman Glenn Frey wanted his guitar sound for On the Border's feature track Good Day in Hell. His raging guitars were the edge the Eagles wanted so he became a member of the legendary band. Don Fedler's work with the Eagles came to public when the album One of These Nights (1975) hit the stands. His vocals, guitar playing and lyrics were featured in the song Too Many Hands. Fedler contributed great edgier guitars to the album, leading it to great commercial and mainstream success. With time the Eagles adopted a more aggressive mode. Their guitars became harder and innovative, changing the outlook of the band for the first time. This is when Bernie Leadon left and was later replaced with Joe Walsh. Felder and Walsh gelled really well and lent their raw energetic guitars to the band's live side. In 1976, the band ventured towards Rock and Roll with Hotel California. The title track was Felder's work and became a monster hit once released as a single. The Eagles became rock sensations to the success enjoyed by this song and still remains an iconic band. The rise to fame of the Eagles paved way for the most turbulent times. The band struggled to settle with numerous issues that arose due the pressure of greater commercial success for the next album. Another twist came when The Long Run (1979) was in the pipeline. Felder and Frey showed great resentment towards each other, which showed up every now and then. Don Fedler parted ways with the Eagles in 1980. After three years of discovering his solo side he released his debut Airborne (1983). From here onwards, Fedler presented some music that he wanted to play with the Eagles. Later he moved into session playing, television hosting and music for Galaxy High a children's cartoon. The Eagles remained with Fedler even after he left the band. Upon the band's reunion for the 1994 album, Hell Freezes Over, he was more than excited to contribute. The Hell Freezes Over tour saw Fedler playing one of his best live shows. The Eagles fanfare and craze stirred further with this tour; so the band came back time and again to perform live. It was only in 1998 when the band was made a part of the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame, that it decided to stop reunion tours. This decision failed as the fan following demanded them at a New Year's Eve Millennium Shows in 2000. These shows showcased Fedler as a part of the Eagles for the last time. After the end of the line, Fedler faced personal and professional setbacks but he fought well and came back as a new person. His new music stance could be experienced with his live touring band called The Don Fedler Band. Fedler and his band tours extensively across the USA playing great musical riffs and music that is composed by Fedler. He also engages in studio recordings and has successfully completed and released his sophomore solo album.
