Founded back in 1966, Dance Alive National Ballet is a professional ballet company that is based in Gainesville, Florida. It has been regarded as an Official Arts Ambassadors and a State Touring Company of Florida. The company receives its funding from National Endowment for the Arts and from various other national, state, and local institutions. It has toured extensively around seventeen states of continental United States and Costa Rica with the financial support of National Endowment for the Arts, South Arts, Conciertos Internacionales, Allied Concert Services and the Florida Department of State. Its repertoire of performance ranges from Don Quixote’s bravura pas de deux, George Balanchine's Apollo, and Cirque du Soleil's Rick Tjia. Also, the overwhelming energy and spirit of a group of fifteen dancers is a major force behind the company’s success.  
 
The company strives to maintain excellence in its professional dance performances, residencies, education and community outreach programs. These educational programs aim to provide exemplary dance training to the university, college, primary, middle and high school students. Pofahl Studio is a premiere dance school of Gainesville which also endorses Dance Alive National Ballet. The studio provides an opportunity for students to receive training from international professional dancers.
