The cast for this musical could not have been better. All the stars are perfectly suited to the characters. Babs Winn, Brenda Paxton and Catherine Porter play the part of the fabulous and ferocious women and the only male cast member of the show is played by the versatile Danny Bernardy. Bab Winn plays the role of Mary- Marie, who owns a cougar bar and is a serial online dater. Playing the role of Lily is Catherine, a divorcee and a reluctant cougar who is disheartened by her failed marriage and finds herself struggling to overcome the emotional wounds and fights to trounce over her confidence crisis. Her character performs to the clever lyrics of the jazzy tune of “Let’s Talk About Me” which is among the best parts of the 90 minute musical. Complementing ‘Mary – Marie’ and ‘Lily’ is Clarity played by the Tony Award nominee of 1995, Brenda Paxton, who got nominated for her brilliant performance in the musical Smokey Joe’s Café. Paxton takes on the role of a strikingly hot financial analyst who decides to research and write on the cougar phenomenon but at the end is forced to embrace her own inner cougar. The sole male cast member, Danny brings remarkable energy and hilarity to the show by playing numerous ‘boy toy’ roles like Goliath, Buck the Barback and The Twilight Dude. A major comic highlight of the show is when Danny plays a female Asian manicurist and all the three female ‘cougars’ perform alongside Danny on the tunes of the song “ Shiny and New”.
 
The direction of Cougar the Musical is provided by the talented Lynne Taylor Corbett, who is not only a super-handed director but is also a composer, lyricist and a choreographer. Corbett was nominated in 2000 for a Tony Award for her Direction and Choreography of the Broadway musical “Swing!” Her recent work on stage is widely commended. She received a nomination of Drama Desk Award in 2009 for providing outstanding choreography for “Vaudeville Man!” In Cougar The Musical apart from direction Taylor-Corbett also provides creative choreography for many dance number of the show including the opening number, “On the Prowl” which starts off the musical with a bang!
