The musical show features an engaging plot that follows the journey of a young Indian-born man, Siddhartha, who has been raised in America. An engineer by profession, Siddhartha's career leads him back to his homeland in pursuit of cleaning the river of Ganges. Siddhartha's return to the Indian land opens up a whole new world for him as well as the audience who are treated to mystics and oriental flavors of Mother India. The story unfolds as Siddhartha encounters a mysterious girl Bharti and starts to fall in love with her. An orphan girl raised by Domraja after being left abandoned on the steps of Varanasi, Bharti truly represents that various colors of India. She is mischievous yet pious, attainable yet hidden and continues to reveal new shades along the way. Siddhartha also comes across another colorful character Sutradhar, who at first is Siddhartha's guide but soon becomes a confidante, philosopher and a friend. Sutradhar also plays a key role in helping the audience understand various elements of the story and is the only character who speaks in the show. Bharti's character is portrayed live on stage by Bhavna Pani. An exotic Indian beauty, Bhavna has been performing on stage since the age of six. She has acquired professional training in modern and jazz dance by renowned dance maestros at the Terrence Lewis Contemporary Dance Company. At the age of sixteen, Bhavna became a professional Kathak and Odissi dancer. She has also worked with Yana Tracy and Jaan Freeman for training in ballet and jazz dance. Bhavna has bagged numerous dance awards including Shringer Mani Award for "Best Odissi Dancer". Apart from this, Bhavna has been featured in several South Indian and Bollywood films such as 'Vettam', 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar', 'Fast Forward' and 'Tere Liye'. She is also a seasoned model, featuring in more than seventy-five commercials for various global brands including Vaseline, Pepsi and Lux. On the other hand, Siddhartha's character is played by Sara Muthu Saravanan. Hailing from Tamil Nadu, Sara developed a passion for dancing at a very young age. After bagging several lead roles in professional stage shows in the country, Sara was discovered by top film producers in India. Since then Sara has been showcasing his talent in major South Indian films. He has toured various countries such as Japan, Scotland, Ireland, Austria, Italy, London, Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia.
