The show provided the audience at that time with a whole new concept of wrestling and instead of the traditional concept of wrestling where the audience was small and stage was built for the local spectators, the theme of televised live show was brought to life. The idea was new and fans simply loved it, making the ratings for the program go higher and higher with every subsequent broadcast. The first episode of the program featured some of the famous wrestlers of that time, namely Koko B. Ware and Yokozuna, when Yokozuna defeated Koko B. Ware. Other fights included in the first episode featured wrestlers including The Steiner Brothers, Executioners, Shawn Michaels, Max Moon, Damien Demento and The Undertaker. An exclusive interview with famous wrestler Razor Ramon also formed a part of the show.
Initially starting from a small theater from New York City named Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center Studios, the WWE Raw has grown with the passage of time into a huge venture today. The original show provided a significant fan base for the show and today the WWE Raw World Tour is a manifestation of the grandeur and magnificence the venture has achieved now.
