Their most successful era came under the tutelage of John Wooden when the UCLA Bruins basketball team won an unprecedented ten titles in only twelve years in the period between 1964 and 1975. They are also the only team in history to go unbeaten during four different seasons. Starting 1971 and going all the way to 1974, the team put together an unbelievable run of eighty eight straight wins. There is an old adage that records are made to be broken but this is one record that most people think no other team will ever be able to top. The UCLA Bruins basketball also holds the distinction of producing the most number of NBA MVP’s. After a few years building the side back up to the level they should be at, they have started to hit their stride under coach Ben Howland.
