The team has come center stage in the NCAA mostly due to the stellar coaching of Ty Harrington who himself is a University alum from the batch of '89. Almost a dozen players who have been coached by Harrington since 2000 have been drafted into Major League Baseball. The Bobcats' basketball team doesn't hold back their paws either, and have taken four conference titles and a NAIA national one back in 1960. Even the women's basketball team has claimed a pair of Southland Conference titles.
