Although the Buccaneers started their NFL campaign with twenty six consecutive losses, they have garnered a few notable achievements in their thirty seven years long run. In 2010 they became the first team, after the merger, to complete a successful season with a starting lineup consisting of ten or more rookies. The Bucs are also only the third team to win the Super Bowl in their lone appearance. They won the Super Bowl XXXVII in 2002, winning the game against favorites, Oakland Raiders from the AFC division, by a score line of forty eight to twenty one.

The Bucs home ground or the "Ray Jay" Stadium has a seating capacity of almost sixty six thousand. It was built on the request of current Bucs owner, Malcolm Glazer. The Ray Jay stadium, costing roughly one hundred and seventy million dollars replaced the older Tampa Stadium. The stadium has hosted the Super Bowl in 2001 and 2009. The Bucs mascot is Captain Fear, a pirate captain who dresses in white, red and black. Their logo shows a red flag, with a pirate skull and crossed sabers displayed on it.
