The formation of Rochester Red Wings took place in the year 1929 and is the AAA affiliate of the major league club Minnesota Twins currently. The Red Wings have played the International League Championship twenty one times. And it has won the Governor’s Cup ten times which is remarkable. Baseball and Rochester collaborated in the year 1877. Rochester had a franchise in the league now known as International League. The present franchise is in the picture since 1899. The team played under the name Rochester Broncos at that time. It proved the talent by winning the League Championship in the inaugural season. The team experienced some downturns also during the beginning of this decade. But showed a nice come back in the years 2004- 2005 when they stood at the second place in the North Division.
